This time last year we were reporting on the “digital shows” we were invited to via Zoom from Paraiso Miami Beach, which seems like a lifetime ago. It was so refreshing to experience Paraiso Miami Beach Swim Week in person last week as we have been for the past five years. We’re happy to report that our summer schedule is officially back on track after a foggy, unregimented 2020, does anyone else feel that way? We’re big planners, so this sense of normalcy is bringing us back to life.
Let’s get to what you’ve all been waiting for, the latest swimwear trends and shows we experienced during Paraiso Miami Beach Swim Week last weekend. After attending these shows, it’s clear that designers know exactly what we need in swimwear this year, which includes swimwear and cover-ups for all of the vacations we’ll be taking this year, flattering cuts, daring styles, pops of color and celebrating every body type. Without further ado, here are the shows we attended, the designers and styles we connected with, and know our readers will appreciate as well.
Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Show
Celebrating body types that come in all shapes and sizes seemed to be the main focus during the shows this year, so it makes sense to start off with the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Show which took place at the Mondrian Hotel in South Beach. Sports Illustrated Swimsuit pioneered the movement of self-love in swimwear by celebrating REAL women of all shapes, sizes, ages, backgrounds, and even those with special handicaps, and we are here for it. Diversity was seen and heard on the runway at the newly renovated Mondrian Hotel Baia Beach Club with a beautiful group of women including professional athletes, entrepreneurs, models, mothers, rookies, and swim search contestants. We love the way Sports Illustrated Swim understands what women really need and want when it comes to swimwear because let’s be honest, shopping for swimsuits can be very stressful for women.
The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit show has become THE show to attend during Paraiso Miami Beach because they continue to redefine cultural conversations by including diverse groups of women and for their ability to throw quite a party at the same time. We have been going to the Mondrian Hotel in South Beach for years, and couldn’t believe the renovations they made by adding the Baia Beach Club. Their new panoramic pool deck was a showstopper and the runway was built over the spacious pool with the Miami city skyline as the perfect backdrop. It was everything we have been waiting for and missing about Paraiso Miami Beach.
Some noteworthy appearances during the show included Sports Illustrated Swimsuit supermodel, Jasmine Sanders who opened the runway followed by Natalie Mariduena, Kathy Jacobs, Brooks Nader, and Katrina Scott, as well as the 13 Swim Search hopefuls selected from Sports Illustrated Swimsuit’s annual open casting call, accompanied by the surprise appearance of Haley Kalil, co-winner of the first-ever Sports Illustrated open casting call in 2018. Thank you, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit for truly knowing what women need and want in swimwear and continuing to celebrate ALL women year after year.
Designers in the show Included: Asherah, HAUS OF PINKLEMONADE, Norma Kamali, AEXAE, Matte Collection, Bfyne, ViX Paula Hermanny, Tropic of C, Anna Kosturova, Tori Praver, Toluca Swim, Andi Bagus, Frankies Bikinis, Yandy, Missoni, Ola Vida, Monica Hansen Beachwear, Avis Bendita, Indah, Fisch, TRIANGL, Oh Polly, Lybethras, Sage Swim, Beach Riot, Heavy Manners, Savannah Morrow, Myra Swim, Chloe Rose, Agent Provocateur, Bain de Minuit, The Merger NYC, Nessy Swim, and Lace by Tanaya.

BOOHOO and BOOHOOMAN Runway Show
We were exceptionally excited for the BOOHOO and BOOHOOMAN Runway Show this year because we have been ordering from BOOHOO for years now and love their price points and the way their collections have evolved over time. It was an honor to be a part of their first live runway show at Paraiso Miami Beach at the one and only Villa Casa Casuarina at the Versace Mansion.
As the ongoing theme of Paraiso Miami Beach, BOOHOO and BOOHOOMAN showcased swimwear for all shapes, sizes, and ethnicities that represented all body types with sizes US 2 -24 and S-XXL. Available at boohoo.com. There’s no way you will visit their site without finding something you love for your travels this summer and their price points make it even better. We have even purchased a couple of things for our significant others off of their BOOHOOMAN collection, which is always fun.
Other noteworthy parts of the BOOHOO and BOOHOOMAN Runway show included a performance by Ty Dolla Sign with celebrity rapper Saweetie who sat in the front row. In addition to the performance, there were other celebrity sightings worth noting such as models, Suede Brooks, Erika Costell, and Kara Del Toro, TikTok Stars Olivia Ponton, Charly Jordan, Madison Lewis, Tessa Brooks, Hunter Rowland, Hootie Hurley, and Jean Victor Mackie. Other special guest appearances included social media star Lele Pons and singer Austin Mahone. It was quite a show with an iconic Miami venue to make the experience that much better.

Life by Style Show
Back at the Paraiso Tent, the Life by Style Collective premiered Avid Swim, Rosewater Swim, and Megan Mae’s new collection. The Life by Style Show regularly brings in the press from influencers and media, so buyers and attendees are there to find upcoming brands to watch.
Avid Swim: Avid Swim showed a collection of sustainable luxury swimwear with beautiful bold floral prints and creative cuts.
Rosewater Swim: Each piece of the collection featured a textured waterproof leopard fabric adding another layer of dimension in a completely unexpected way.
Megan Mae: Influencer and model Megan Mae launched her namesake swimwear line with a collection of crowd-pleasing solids in the most delicious hues ranging from pink to aqua blue.
As you can see, all of these collections are “vacation ready” and have something for everyone.

LULIFAMA Runway Show
One of our favorite shows and designers year after year is always LULIFAMA and she truly brought it all out this year with another epic runway show. These shows always bring more than just swimwear, this high-energy entertainment, and performances. This year did not disappoint with tribal-like made-up dancers, leaping, high-kicking, and break dancing down the runway before the show started. From there, it was time for the models to grace the runway in LULIFAMA’s latest collection. We are so excited to rock these looks in an upcoming trip to the Turks and Caicos in November. Stay tuned!
LULIFAMA brought out everything we never knew we always wanted and more. High-quality crafted one and two-pieces dove onto the runway complete with the most popular color palettes of the season, beautifully stitched cutouts, patterns, textures that stand out with sexy peekaboo slits, and beaded ties and sinches. Something different this year was the presentation partnering swimwear with resort wear. We all know how hard it is to go from poolside wear to loungewear and these styles help for a quick transition that flows perfectly on all body types.
