Hey everyone, it’s Lindsey and it’s certainly been a while, but I’ve been a little busy. I’m so excited to officially announce on the blog that…I’m pregnant! Nathan and I are expecting a little baby boy this November! So if you’ve been wondering why we took a slight hiatus, it’s because of that. In the midst of finding out we were pregnant we were also moving into a new house and planning a wedding for October 2022 which has now been postponed to April 2023. All exciting things, but it’s been a lot of work on top of the constant pregnancy fatigue and lack of motivation to do anything but nap. But now that I’m in my second trimester I’m like a brand new girl! Seriously, those old wives' tales are not wrong, so I’m taking full advantage.
So, being pregnant is a new journey and I’m not going to pretend I know anything about it. I’ve been EXTREMELY lucky in that my pregnancy symptoms have only consisted of cravings, slight nausea, and fatigue. I haven’t experienced morning sickness or any other negative symptoms which I don’t take for granted for a single second I can only hope the rest of my pregnancy goes this smooth. I feel for anyone that has to go through that, I can’t imagine. All that being said, I’m not here to brag or give advice on anything I’ve been going through because as we all know, pregnancy is different for everyone.
Being that LLScene started as a fashion + lifestyle blog, I’m here to share what’s been working for me. Let me preface this by saying, this will not turn into a “mom blog,” but LLScene’s blog content has always covered exciting milestones in our lives and this one is a big one! I simply want to share what’s been working for me because I have found some of the best advice on pregnancy-related TikTok’s and I’m happy to spread the knowledge, especially since I know so many people pregnant right now. You might even be pregnant sitting on your precious little secret about to burst!
As someone who’s spent so a lot of her life working out and striving for the “perfect body,” it’s been a bit of a challenge for me to adjust to my everything changing, but I’m doing my best by staying healthy by giving in to my cravings, and not being too hard on myself. Something I didn't expect - not fitting into your jeans for the first time is a humbling experience, but you’ll get through it. I’m constantly reminding myself, that my body is building a human and it's freaking awesome. So many tedious things I used to care about have gone right out the window. I'm embracing it all. I’m not trying to reinvent the wheel because I’m not the first or last person to get pregnant and give unsolicited advice, but maybe these are things you haven’t heard about yet - I certainly didn’t! My advice for now is to size up (I'm ordering everything in a size Medium) and look for flattering, stretchy styles without buttons and zippers. Let’s start with some outfits and pieces of clothing that I have been living in during my second trimester.
